Remuneration Advice and Support

ICC provides advice on appropriate remuneration packages for staff working overseas. This will ensure they are appropriately compensated for the differences in cost of living and quality of living associated with an expatriate assignment. Some of the services ICC provides are:

Tax equalized or protected salary calculation or build-up
The build-up approach is a method of calculating an expatriate's salary package. It is based on a series of adjustments to the home base salary using the Cost of Living Index and allowances.

The build-up approach fulfils the following objectives:

- Protects the expatriate's home country purchasing power throughout the world consistently;
- Covers ongoing home country commitments e.g. mortgage payments, savings, life insurance, etc;
- Incorporates incentive allowances (or premiums) in a systematic way;
- Facilitates re-entry into the home country salary system.

Allowances typically provided are:

- Cost of Living
- Quality of Living (Hardship or Location)
- Mobility Premium
- Disturbance (one off)

Local Salary Data and Benefits

- As part of a complete remuneration service for International Assignments, ICC provides all of the necessary information required to enable a company to understand all the employment issues affecting an individual in a foreign location.
- This includes information on accommodation, schooling, local personal tax, cost of living, and quality of living, local clubs, transport (including motor vehicles), utilities and much more.
